In-Country Training Courses

Workshops and training courses have proven to be successful not only in building specific capacity within a jurisdiction, but also in bringing key stakeholders together in a way that builds cross-ministerial networks and helps create momentum for emissions trading.

Standard outline:

• Format: 2-5 days (virtual or in-person), organised and implemented in collaboration with host country institutions;
• Target group: Policy makers and/or private sector representatives from countries considering or designing an ETS as well as specific target audiences (e.g., verifiers);
• Objective: Focus on selected topics (e.g., ETS in the policy mix, legislative framework) or design elements (e.g., cap-setting, MRV).
