Leon Heckmann

Experience: Leon Heckmann has been managing the CB ETS programme on the adelphi side together with Iryna Holovko since 2022. Baran Doda

Profile: Baran Doda is Head of Programme Carbon Markets and Pricing at adelphi.
Experience: Baran Doda has acted as an expert in a range of carbon pricing capacity building activities with a focus on the design, functioning and implementation of domestic carbon pricing instruments such as ETS and carbon taxes. His contributions to capacity building activities also draw on his recent work on market stability instruments in emission trading systems, the assessment of carbon pricing potentials in Asia and Africa, analysis of carbon leakage risk and the role of carbon pricing across different sectors of the economy. Prior to joining adelphi Baran was a Research Fellow at the Grantham Research Institute at the London School of Economics and Political Science where he conducted research on the economics of climate change; design of market-based policy instruments; international and interconnected carbon markets; geoengineering; and the relationship between GHG emissions and the macroeconomy.
Expertise: Design and implementation of carbon pricing instruments, linkages between emissions trading systems and market-based decarbonization policies particularly for energy and industrial sectors.
Alexander Eden

Profile: Alexander Eden is an Advisor at adelphi working in the field of carbon markets and pricing.
Experience: Alexander Eden has been contributing to the capacity building activities of the CB ETS as an expert since 2016. His focus lies in ETS design and implementation, carbon pricing and broader climate policy in the land use and forestry sectors, domestic offset program design, and international market mechanisms. Prior to joining adelphi, Alexander worked at the Potsdam Institute for Climate Impact Research in the field of climate change impacts and vulnerability, and at Germanwatch e.V. analysing REDD+, forest conservation, and international trade flows.

Zhibin Chen

Profile: Zhibin Chen is Senior Manager for Asia at adelphi in the field of carbon markets and pricing. He has extensive expertise and several years of experience on the design and implementation of the Chinese National ETS.
Experience: Zhibin contributes to the capacity building activities of the CB ETS programme as a regional expert for Asia. Prior to joining adelphi, Zhibin was the Chief Engineer in Carbon Assets Management Company of State Power Investment Corporation Limited, which manages 300 million tons of allowance in China national ETS. Zhibin was responsible for developing carbon management rules, developing offset projects, international carbon trading and carbon finance. With this experience, Zhibin has an in-depth understanding of the implementation of China’s National ETS as well as the regional ETS pilots.
Expertise: Design, functioning and implementation of the regional pilots as well as the national ETS in China, ETS and climate policy developments in China and the wider Asia-Pacific region, carbon management for the energy sector, international carbon trading and carbon finance, international market mechanisms.
Theresa Wildgrube

Profile: Theresa Wildgrube is a Senior Advisor at adelphi in the field of carbon markets and pricing.
Experience: Theresa contributes to the organization, conceptualization and implementation of capacity building activities in the CB ETS programme. She has extensive experience and expertise on fostering the technical dialogue between political decision makers, industry and other stakeholders. She has led and implemented projects with international organisations, national authorities and the private sector. In addition to a broad expertise on national, European and international energy and climate policy as well as EU and international emissions trading, Theresa also has experience in the work processes and functioning of national, international and EU institutions.

David Hynes

Profile: David Hynes is an Advisor at adelphi working on international carbon markets mechanisms and emissions trading systems, with particular focus on developing countries.
